    • Avocados

    • Coffee & Tea - anything with caffeine

    • Apple Cores

    • Lemons & Limes

    • Raw Potatoes

    • Grapes & Raisins

    • Pitted Fruits

    • Chocolate

    • Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds, Macadamia & Pistachio Nuts

    • Alcohol

    • Garlic & Onions

    • Corn on the Cob

    • Blue Cheese

    • Yeast Dough

    • Tomatoes

    • Chewing Gum & Xylitol Sweetener (found in some peanut butters)

    • Cinnamon - is not toxic to dogs but can irritate the inside of their mouths

    Human Foods that dogs can eat

    Proteins:

    · Chicken
    · Turkey
    · Pork
    · Lean beef
    · Fish – Salmon and Sardines are especially goodfor dogs
    · Cheeses in moderation (except Blue Cheese)
    · Yogurt in moderation

    Fruits & Vegetables:

    · Bananas
    · Blueberries
    · Apples
    · Seedless watermelon
    · Pumpkin
    · Carrots
    · Sweet potatoes
    · Green beans
    · Broccoli
    · Green peas

    Grains:
    · Quinoa
    · Oatmeal
    · Rice
    · Bread—small amounts of plain bread are acceptable on occasion

    Other Foods:

    · Peanut butter—be sure the brand you select does not contain xylitol or added sugar
    · Coconut
    · Honey

    · Popcorn

    Poisonous Plants for Dogs

    The following plants are the most toxic to dogs and should never be made available to them under any circumstances:

    · Castor bean or castor oil plant (Ricinuscommunis)
    · Cyclamen (Cylamen spp.)
    · Dumbcane (Dieffenbachia)
    · Hemlock (Conium maculatum)
    · English Ivy, both leaves and berries (Hederahelix)
    · Mistletoe (Viscum album)
    · Oleander (Nerium oleander)
    · Thorn apple or jimsonweed (Datura stramonium)
    · Yew (Taxus spp.)
    · Any mushroom you cannot identify as safe

    These types of vegetation are to be avoided for a variety of reasons. Do not plant them near your home or bring them inside as plants or cut flowers:

    · Amaryllis (Amaryllis spp.)
    · Autumn crocus (Colochicum autumnale)
    · Bleeding heart (Dicentra spectabilis)
    · Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis)
    · Chrysanthemum (Compositae spp.)
    · Flower bulbs of any kind
    · Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea)
    · Jerusalem cherry (Solanum pseudocapsicum)
    · Larkspur (Delphinium)
    · Lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis)
    · Marijuana (Cannabis sativa)
    · Peace Lily or Mauna Loa Peace Lily(Spathiphyllum spp.)
    · Pothos (both Scindapsus and Epipremnum)
    · Rhubarb (Rheum rhaponticum)
    · Schefflera (Schefflera and Brassaiaactinophylla)
    · Stinging nettles (Urtica dioica)
    · Tulip/Narcissus bulbs (Tulipa/Narcissus spp.)
    · Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia)

    These tougher-leafed or woody specimens are also poisonousand should be avoided in and around your house.
    · Azalea
    · Box
    · Chinaberry tree

    · Laburnum
    · Oleander
    · Privet
    · Sago Palm
    · Rhododendron
    · Wisteria

    My Treat recipe

    1 lb. meat (choose one):


    I use chicken that I cook in the crockpot, then grind in a little food processor
    Ground cooked Turkey
    Ground cooked lean beef
    Two Cans of Organic Pink Salmon packed in Water
    Two Cans Tuna packed in Water
    Two Cans Wild Planet Sardines in Water (No Salt, Scale Free)
    Two Cans Starkist Wild Pink salmon in water(skinless, boneless)

    1 15 oz. Canned Pumpkin Puree
    ½ cup Almond Flour OR 1 cup cooked white orbrown rice
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 TB coconut oil, melted
    ½ to 1 cup cooked healthy vegetable (choose one):

    Broccoli
    Green beans
    Carrots

    OR

    ½ to 1 cup healthy fruit (choose one):

    Apples
    Blueberries
    Bananas

     


    Instructions:

    1)     Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit
    2)     Mix all ingredients in large bowl
    3)     Use glass casserole dish 9 x 13 (spray with Pamfor easy removal)
    4)     Cook 30 minutes
    5)     Let cool completely, then cut into small squares

    NOTE:
    If you use a smaller pan, and make thicker treats, you will need to cook longer
